Decorating Flip Flops is a fun party activity. It is a craft that is as fun for a party of bridesmaids as it is a party of five year olds. All you need is a pair of flip flops in a solid color, ribbons or markets and your imagination and you are ready to go.

If gathering all of the materials seems like a big chore to you then you can get several kits for making them. The company Noodle Head makes a kit for little kids and a second kit for teens. Alex Toys also makes a kit called Flip ‘Em Flops that have soles and seven pairs of ribbons. This means you can wear a different color ribbon on your flip flops every week. This is expensive and not as fun and personal as decorating your flip flops.

There are many ways to put a personal touch on flip flops including creatively writing your name on them, crawing flowers on them adding stars and using a marker to draw swirls, polka dots and other shapes.

Graffiti decorated flip flops also look nice. You can write any message you want on them. Don’t forget to write messages on the soles of your feet for extra effect. That way when you are sitting cross legged others can read your messages.

There are all kinds of nice items that can be used for decorations. You can roll thongs in glue and then roll them in tiny glitter and sequins. You can glue on larger sequ3enx and flat gems toms. You can also get special waterproof glue that allows you to wear these decorated flip-flops in the water.

You can also fix great big flowers, buckles, buttons and anything shiny to the flip flops to give them a nice look. Big flowers are easy twine on flip flops. In fact if you have a selection of fake flowers on hand you can customize your thongs to suit just about every outfit.

If you are really ambitious you can even make your own flip flops. All you need is a chunky foam for the base of the flip flops and fabric strips that will be threaded through holes that you poke in the soles. Then all you need is a hot glue gun and paints to decorate your flip flops. This is a simple craft but be forewarned that they do not last as long as the ones that you buy in the store.

If you have a pair of old, slightly used or even brand new flip flops you can personalize them by decorating. It is one way to revive an old shoe so it looks new. Plus decorating flip-flops can also be a lot of fun. You can also decorate them to suit the color of a dress or make them so that they are more suitable to your personal style.

There are several ways to decorate flip flops. One of the easiest ways is with ribbons. You simply roll them around the straps of the flip flop. The ribbon makes your straps gleam. If you have a really plain pair one way to gussy it up is to simply add a big bow. A big flower or plastic butterfly also looks good on a thong. Yet another idea is to glue a great big gem on the Y shape that separates the big toe from the rest of the toe.

You can also add bling. You can buy plastic gems and the string the gems on a cord. You then glue the garland of gems on top of the strap of the flip flop. You can also glue the gems on separately but they tend to stay on longer if you do it this way.

You can also buy threads strung with sequins. These can just be glued directly on thongs as well.

It is also quite easy just to paint the flip flops. You can paint designs on them with paint or you can draw on them with marker. Metallic marker looks especially nice. Neon marker looks nice if you want to add polka-dots to some thongs.

You can paint images on thongs to match any theme. You can paint butterflies, hearts, volleyballs, hamburgers, your business or anything you like on flip flops. Brides can paint the date of their wedding on them. You can also give thongs away as party favors.\

You can also decorate your feathered flip flops with feathers. You can even make the look like birds. Paint the bird’s countenance on the upper sole and strap feathers on the tong straps.
There is a fad in California for painting portraits on Flip Flops. You paint your face on the upper soles and your name on the straps.

If you are having a party with a bunch of kids (particularly teenage girls) this is a great project to keep them busy while they are socializing.
